Epoque Hotel – Relais & Chateaux
Located close to Bucharest’s commercial and theatrical districts, Hotel Epoque is a comfortable hotel inspired by Romanian architecture of the early 19th Century. The interiors include arched entrances and majestic columns, as well as antiques and colorful mosaics.
The hotel has several conference rooms and meeting rooms, including a wine club, cigar collection, and a gallery for 120 people. The elegant French restaurant, seasonal outdoor terrace, fully serviced swimming pool, indoor pool, and gym are just some additional amenities.
Epoque hotel has different room situations to match your budget, including suites, standard hotel rooms, small condos furnished with king-sized beds, two plasma TVs, a minibar, and office desks. Additionally, some rooms offer additional amenities such as a terrace and private kitchens.
All prices include in-room Wi-Fi, buffet breakfast, and underground parking. Many people staying at Epoque have recommended lunch or dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, but we never tried it.
Either way, it is a superb option for a budget stay in Romania’s capital city.

Those staying at Hotel Scala Bucharest will be treated to traditional architecture, historical furniture, and antiques in every corner of the building, which is well combined with modern comfort. It also hosts exhibitions, live music concerts, and gala dinners.

The luxurious five-star Grand Continental dates back to the year 1800. For over two centuries, it has been located in the heart of Bucharest. Some rooms have separate living rooms or views of Victoriei Street. As a bonus, a complimentary buffet breakfast is served each morning, and several on-site restaurants and bars, including a Balkan bistro, a gourmet French restaurant, and a lobby with over 100 different alcoholic beverages. Talk about selection! That is what over two centuries of business can do for you!
Ana Hotels Sport Poiana Brasov
The Ana Hotels Sport Poiana Brasov is located in the middle of pine trees at the foot of Postavarul Mountain and is a beautiful Alpine-style mountain building, just a few minutes’ walk from the Capra Neagra cable car.
The location makes it ideal for those looking to get in a healthy load of hiking in the fresh summer mountain air and skiing or snowboarding in the winter.
Ana Hotels boasts comfortable rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs, heated bathrooms, and every room has a coffee maker. Some rooms are even furnished with special facilities such as hot tubs, private balconies, or separated rooms with a sofa bed. In addition to all of that, the hotel’s general amenities include an indoor pool, gym, and on-site restaurant.
Boutique Hotel Amzei
Hotel Amzei is located in an old residence dating back to the 20th Century. Though the building looks like it should be placed out in the countryside, it is, in fact, located in the center of Bucharest. The accommodation has only 22 rooms, which means it will never be overcrowded and the simple reception area is a pleasant place to relax.
Nearby, it is easy to explore the surrounding attractions on foot. You must try the small walk-up bakery in front of the hotel. And don’t just try it – it is not that simple. Once you try it, you won’t be able to forget it. Do yourself a favor and get the polonez cu nuca on your first day in the city. It is a pretzel-shaped Danish flavored with walnut, and it is to die for.
Sarroglia Hotel
Located in the city’s heart, Hotel Sarroglia offers comfortable rooms with modern furniture and soundproofed windows to avoid the noise in the busy city streets below.
As a guest, you can enjoy many luxurious amenities, including a rooftop jacuzzi with breathtaking city views, a delicious Italian restaurant with an outdoor terrace, and a lounge with an art gallery of works by renowned and new artists. You can rent bicycles at reception for a fun afternoon with the whole family. Also, this is kind of unique. As a guest, you are given a complimentary mobile phone on loan that comes with a SIM card to be automatically and conveniently connected within the city.
Hotel Cismigiu
Hotel Cismigiu is one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau hotels in Bucharest, located in a beautiful 1912 building with apartment-style rooms and suites, all with free Wi-Fi, comfortable armchairs, and a minibar. It is interesting to see the contrast between century-old architecture and modern amenities, but it works well at Hotel Cismigiu.
Some of the rooms have a fully equipped kitchen and a living room with a pull-out bed. The hotel also offers a few on-site restaurants, including a French cuisine restaurant with a beautiful view of the nearby Parliament building and a Romanian restaurant inside the ground floor’s brewery featuring delicious traditional food.
Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest
The Athenee Palace Hilton, known as the swankiest of Bucharest hotels, occupies a place of honor next to the Athenaeum. It has been welcoming its guests since 1914. Although the facade was renovated in the 1930-s to give it a more modern look in the Art Deco style, the interior retains the elegance of the Belle Epoque.
The hotel has 272 rooms (some of them in a more modern wing) and all the facilities you would expect from a five-star hotel. If you are staying here, you must try the French Revolution confectionery on the same street just a few blocks away. They specialize in eclairs of various flavors that are just fantastic!
Hotel Privo
Located in a quiet area near Targu Mures’ center, Hotel Privo is an unexpectedly minimalist hotel, which was one of our surprisingly favorite places during our trip to Transylvania.
This hotel will fulfill all your desires, whether you are a designer, wine lover, or have a high appreciation of good-tasting food; whatever your needs, the Hotel Privo covers them.
Additionally, the hotel has a wellness center, a wine cellar, a beautiful terrace, and one of the friendliest staff we have ever come across.
The Radisson Blu Bucharest
The Radisson Blu in Bucharest is a huge hotel (487 rooms). Though, compared to the historic Hilton opposite it on the street, the Radisson is inaccurately dwarfed.
The lobby bar/café is often bustling, and the pool area is even more attractive. The neighboring casino is a magnet for young people, so if you are looking for a little bit of night action, that is where you want to be.
Caffe Citta, a restaurant next to the lobby, offers the best pizza in Bucharest, and you would be surprised by the quality. Please don’t take it from us; try it yourself on your visit!
Hotel International Iasi
With beautiful landscaping and interior decor, the Hotel International Iasi offers comfortable and spacious rooms and a convenient location in the center of Iasi.
The rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and all the regular get-ups. Depending on which room you book, you may even have a private room for a pull-out sofa bed and panoramic city views from your terrace.
The hotel’s rooftop, whose restaurant specializes in traditional Romanian cuisine, offers the same beautiful view while you dine. And if you must feel active on your vacation, you can also use the hotel’s gym and indoor pool, relax in the sauna and jacuzzi, or dine in one of the other nearby local restaurants.

JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel
With 402 rooms, several restaurants, a swimming pool, a spa, a casino, and a shopping center with several exclusive shops, staying at JW Marriott Bucharest is almost like checking into paradise.
With its proximity to the parliament buildings, there are bounds of conferences scheduled every month. Not to mention, it is just a short walk from the historic center and cultural area, so taxis (which are everywhere and cheap in Bucharest) are highly recommended.

The Orhideea Residence & Spa, with 80 rooms and suites and an ecological wellness center, is ideal for those looking for a natural homely feel in Bucharest.
All rooms have one or two beds and a fully equipped kitchen with a living room. Some also have their own balcony. Copsamare Guesthouse
You will be hard-pressed to find a Transylvania experience as true as staying at the Copsamare Guesthouse – where honey comes from the priest’s bees, furniture passed on from the neighborhood, and natural ornaments such as dried nut leaves and tree trunks coming directly from the great outdoors. Apart from the Italian owners, everything in this modest guesthouse has remained true to its Romanian roots.
The Gerald’s Hotel
Opened in 2007, Gerald’s Hotel is one of the most modern hotels in the country’s north. All rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a minibar, and air conditioning, while the large suites are available for those traveling with family or who might require a little more space.
Breakfast is included in the room rate, and the hotel restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. There is also a bar with a wide selection of cocktails and other alcoholic beverages if you want to let loose at the end of the day. Massages are available upon request, free welcome drinks, and a gym – not necessarily in that order.
