During high season, shared water taxis from Hvar Town typically cost around €10–€15 return per person for nearby stops like Jerolim, and roughly €15–€25 return per person for longer drops such as Palmižana or Stipanska Bay (prices rise at night and in peak July–August).

Private speedboat transfers are usually priced per boat rather than per person, typically starting at €60–€100 return, depending on the destination and time.

Hikers should head to St. Clement Island; here, a marked hiking trail connects the famous Palmižana Cove with Vlaka and Momić polje. The trail in the first part, from Palmižana to the west, passes through the Meneghello family’s botanical garden. A trail leads from Vlaka via Momi Polje to the highest point of the Pakleni islands – a peak of approximately 94 meters above sea level!

Sveti Klement is the largest island in the Pakleni archipelago. The island covers 5.27 square kilometers and has a 29-kilometer coastline. The highest peak, Glavica, is 94 meters high. ACI Marina Palmižana accommodates vessels of various sizes, subject to availability, draft, and seasonal marina regulations.

Once here, check out the local fishing village of 15 houses and the little chapel, and eat at Pension Tonci (try the fish stew brodetto à la Tonči)

Marinkovac Island

Party peeps head to Marinkovac Island – after all, it is where the famous Carpe Diem bar is; transfers from Hvar to Carpe Diem run day and night – just be sure not to miss the last one back. This is one of the larger islands in the Pakleni archipelago. For some beach time, we suggest Zdrilca Beach, and for lunch, dine at Restaurant Antonio Patak (try the lobster spaghetti).

If you travel with kids, do not miss the kid-friendly Mlini beach.

Jerolim Island

The easiest way to reach Pakleni Island from Hvar is by Jerolim, a short water taxi ride that typically takes 5–10 minutes, depending on conditions; it’s ideal for a day of snorkeling. Just be careful, as there is a nudist beach on the island. You can get food and drinks at the restaurant before returning to Hvar.

The earliest known settlers in the wider Hvar area were Illyrian tribes, as evidenced by archaeological finds on nearby islands. The Romans later conquered the area and built several villas on the islands. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Croats settled in the area, and the islands became part of Croatia.
