Have you ever heard of glamping?

Glamping combines the best bits of camping but adds in total and utter comfort and style. You don’t need to pack or unpack a tent, you don’t need to make a fire, and you don’t have to go outside behind a bush if you need the toilet in the middle of the night!

Glamping is like a home away from home but with extra sophistication thrown in. When you think about Croatia’s scenery and nature, you can imagine that a glamping break could be something extraordinary indeed. There are several places with glamping facilities, so let’s look at some of Croatia’s best glamping.

Cast Away, Hvar Island

Enter Cast Away – Cast Away is an “off-the-grid, back-to-basics eco campsite which offers ten spacious huts in the middle of nature, a stone’s throw away from two beautiful beaches.”

Cast Away’s beginnings have a beautiful story too; Didier Van Bellinghen was born in Belgium to a Belgian father and Croatian mother.

His mum always had a dream to have a small guesthouse on one of the Dalmatian Islands in Croatia; they found the perfect location on none other than the gorgeous island of Hvar. Sadly, his mum passed away just after construction began; 30 years later, Didier returned to fulfill his parents’ lifelong dream, and Cast Away was born.

Glamping Cikat Losinj, Mali Losinj

In Mali Losinj, you will find this real slice of outdoor heaven. Accommodation is like being on safari, with a wooden hut entirely at your disposal, including kitchen facilities, a coffee machine for your morning cup of java, as well as comfortable beds and living space. On-site, you will also find a swimming pool, spa center, shops, and restaurants.

Set in a small village near Tarska Vala, the sea views are stunning to wake up to every morning. The nearby town of Novigrad is a fun place to visit as well.

Glampers can enjoy the on-site swimming pool and restaurant while kicking back and relaxing in the large and well-equipped tents situated on or above the beach.

The tents themselves are great for families, a large room for adults, and a smaller room for the kids, including bunk beds. There are en-suite bathrooms and showers, a large kitchen and terrace, all including hammocks to really relax, as well as an outdoor seating area. If you want to watch something on TV, you can do that, too, while taking in your surroundings.

 

Bi Village, Fazana

On the western coastline of Croatia’s popular Istria region, you will find the equally popular area of Fazana. Mon Perin, Bale

There is a lot of beauty and history to explore in Bale, and glamping at the same time is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the traditions of the Istrian region. Mon Perin itself is very sophisticated, offering a true get away from it all feel. All accommodation is modern and well-decorated, almost like a show home, with glass sides to help you check out the beautiful beach and vegetation all around you.

The site is very close to Bale’s medieval town, and there are plenty of facilities and amenities on-site. Children will be well catered for with a playground, mini-golf, beach facilities and sports, a tourist train, and a free aqua park. Glamping Sibenik

If you want to be based in complete and utter countryside, cut off from the world, this particular choice is for you. Set on an island, you can still have easy access to the mainland but enjoy peace and serenity as well. You’ll wake up to the scents of fragrant pine and olive trees every morning. This is an adults-only site, so fantastic for honeymoons and romantic breaks, without noise.

The accommodation is like safari huts, many of which have direct beach views to wake up to. There are hammocks and chairs outside most huts, and ambient lighting available. Wi-Fi is on hand, and each lodge has a bathroom, kitchen, and living area, which is well-stocked with everything you could need throughout your break.

Camp Zagreb

You don’t have to be in the total countryside. You can also be very close to a large city, but still enjoy the wonder of nature. Camp Zagreb is the perfect middle ground, offering easy access to the city but also set in green, lush vegetation. This isn’t a huge site, but it provides enough for visitors to enjoy, including wooden bungalows overlooking the lake.

Plenty of water sports are on offer, such as kayaking, providing your day’s entertainment. There is a wellness suite on-site, as well as a large restaurant and pizzeria.
