Assuming that the animal was immunized but lacked a microchip, one will are obligated to revaccinate when the microchip is inserted. Even if your pet is vaccinated and allowed in the cabin, ensure that you use your cat harness to keep your furry friend from distracting other travelers.

Rabies Titer Test

After your pet is microchipped and immunized against rabies, you ought to wait for a month for your feline or canine to take a rabies titer test, the FAVN test. This helps uncover rabies virus neutralizing antibodies, which measure rabies antibodies in the blood after the pet is vaccinated.

Blood titer tests are conducted by a certified veterinarian who must first scan the microchip before the test. All the samples are sent to European Union approved laboratories. If the results are as per the required limit, your pet is allowed entry into the country 90 days after the analysis. The specimens sent by your veterinarian must be among the forms for the passport; that is, they have to be included in the approved titer test profile.

The submissions include;

  • 1ml serum separated free of preservatives and spun to separate the clot.
  • The ISO microchip number.

The titer test is necessary to avoid quarantine or shorten its duration.

Health Certificate

If you choose to head off 5 days earlier (or after) your pet, you will need to complete the non-profitmaking health document, at most 10 days before arrival.

For those journeying from Canada or the USA, the health certificates are acquired together with the pet passport. This document should be valid and certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) or the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). 3. Hi there I recently came with my two cats from Canada to Turkey but now i want to continue my trip to Serbia so I wonder what documentation I need to bring my cats with me. If Serbia was my first stop from Canada I will know what I need but now I’m so lost

  4. Looking for a transportation company to bring our 2 days to Serbia.
    Do you have a recommendation?
    LP

  5. Completely irrelevant article. Anywhere from EU with a pet passport, just gets waived by. No checks, no tests, no care. The EU pet passport is accepted by all EU and schengen states and 5 non schengen/EU states and US and Can at face value. The days of fear over dog travel are long gone, yet people dont seem to understand.
    Unless you are coming from Africa, southeast asia, or South America (or maybe some really bad third world country), there is nothing to worry about.
    We traveled from Canada to Europe with nothing but a piece of paper stating the pertinent info and vet check in 2014. No questions. Once in EU got the pet passport, and have traveled all over EU, Schengen and non Schengen, and no one honestly looked at it. Once they see the cover of the EU PP, they dont care.
    Everybody everywhere takes care of their pet. Proper shots, Spay or Neuter, deworming, health checks etc. The kind of people who dont do this, dont travel. So its not a concern. So tired of people spouting fear over something that is on every countries Embassy list under FAQ or links, and is actually very simple. Basically its what you would do in your home country anyway. Again unless from a rabies rampant country you need nothing else.

  6. Further to the last comment. We have done this with now 2 different dogs since 2014 now into 2024, and never, absolutely never have been questioned. Only 1 time did they even look at the papers/EU PP, and it was about 5 seconds. This is 21 different countries, Schengen/Non Schengen, EU, Non EU…Do they basics that require when you simply have an animal, and again unless you have rabies filled country you are fine. Do your diligence, and of course send a quick email to your future country, but people stop living in fear.
