Hiking routes take you past incredible cave houses; around rock formations and tunnels; through cave houses and churches; and over the Rose Valley ridge, which gives you amazing views out over the valley. valley, make sure you leave time to view the sunset and return.
To ensure you have the best hiking experience, keep in mind these tips:
- Download the map on Google or Alltrails
- Wear good shoes suitable for rough terrain
- Bring sunscreen, water, and snacks
- The Cappadocia region can be very hot throughout the summer months, so unless you are visiting at another time of the year, avoid walking in the middle of the day.
Watch The Sunset
Whether you decide to hike through the valley or take a trip only for sunset, you will have an incredible experience.
The best sunset viewpoint is the Red Valley Viewpoint, with views out across both the Red and Rose Valleys. In the late afternoon, you will notice people setting up chairs, enjoying a drink, and getting ready to take in the beautiful colors marking the end of the day.
Explore On Horseback
Horses have had a distinct and important place in the region’s history and continue to this day, with horseback riding being one of the most popular activities.
An interesting and relaxing way to visit the valley, away from the crowds, taking a horseback tour is an incredible way to experience the valley. Tours take visitors throughout the park daily, winding through the volcanic hills, fairy chimneys, and churches along the way.
Take An ATV Adventure
An unusual and thrilling way to visit the valley, ATV is a great way to explore the valley for those short on time.

Experience The Rose Valley From Above
An unforgettable experience, hot air balloon rides are one of the top things to do in the Rose Valley.
When booking your trip, the most important thing to ask is whether the pilot flies through the valley or simply up into the sky. For the best views, you should embark on your journey at sunrise, when the valley’s skies are filled with balloons. A flight through the valley at sunrise is the best of the two options.
For travelers visiting in summer, an annual International Hot Air Balloon festival takes place (in July or August), with hundreds of balloons taking off over three days.
Now you have everything you need for an unforgettable experience in the Rose Valley Cappadocia in Turkey.
