Ancient Culture. Unique Location. Traditional Design.
Pag Island, particularly Zrče beach in Novalja, is swamped with clubbers who descend on this beach through summer to attend the many festivals and superclubs and party the day and night away. With lots of young people, pumping music, packed beaches, and lots and lots of crowds it’s a place everyone but the party people try to avoid.
.
However, this northern Dalmatian Island has a lot more to offer than just being a party destination. It boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the region, which by the way are very secluded. Some can only be accessed by boat, making them quiet and extremely family-friendly destinations near Zadar.
Pag has an ancient rich cultural heritage, which is known for its lace traditions and the production of world famous sheep cheese called “Paski Sir”. It is very barren and dry, with spectacular views of its rocky plains and turquoise blue sea. It is unique with its snail-like shape. Another interesting fact about this island is that it is split into two different counties – one part belongs to the Zadar County, while the other half belongs to the Lika County.
.

Novalja is the most famous city on the island, but the island has so many other small towns and villages that offer a very rich tourist experience. For example, the little town of Metajna has some of the best beaches around.
Lun has mythical ancient Olive groves, with a tree that is over 1600 years old, as olive harvest and cultivation has been a part of the culture for the people of Pag for many generations. Lun also has a spectacular sunset, overlooking the Adriatic Sea and the northern islands within the Zadar region.
.

Many say that Pag is so unusual, that it creates a feeling as if you are on the moon with its rocky landscape. It has many special places for unlimited peace and relaxation.
.
Pag has not had the same attention awarded to it, like other famous Croatian destinations, such as Dubrovnik, Hvar, Makarska and Split, but, it is an example of a unique destination ready for hungry tourists looking to explore something new.
Destination Weddings in Croatia
Another aspect of Croatian tourism that is on the rise is destination weddings. Pag has attracted many young tourists for it’s partying, though now, many are coming to Pag, to plan their destination wedding.
Brides and grooms simply can’t resist the natural beauty, history, culture, food and of course wine that Croatia has to offer. They want to make Croatia their special place. A place where they will say their “I Do’s” surrounded by close friends and family.
.

Pag has many venues that offer peace, tranquillity and perfect scenery for weddings. Boškinac Hotel & Winery is a great example. It offers a fairytale setting, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, which have been cultivated for many generations.
Boškinac offers a peaceful ambiance, with incredible scents and views of the Novalja plains. The architecture resembles the island’s original ethnographic heritage. The interior is designed with unique hand-made furniture and carefully selected décor. It is located on a hill – away from the tourist locations.
The hotel’s romantic terraces offer spectacular views, and its rustic style wine cellar offers an extraordinary culinary experience with homemade specialties and some of the best wines. A place the bride and groom and their guests will remember for a lifetime.
.

Croluxe Weddings and Events recently organized a wedding shoot at this location. They wanted to capture the true essence of the history, culture and traditions of this island. Their shoot locations included the venue Boškinac Hotel and Winery, ancient Olive groves, sheep grazing pastures, magnificent rocky beach in the small town of Metajna and old Roman ruins near the Pag bridge, connecting the island to the mainland.
